The human race and in fact life on this planet faces many threats. For example – climate change, global warming, the natural resources of the planet running out etc. In addition there is the threat of multiple nuclear holocausts. There are conflicts going on the Middle East and in Ukraine in which at least one of the parties is a nuclear armed power. And there may be other threats that I do not even know of now and in future.
What can I possibly say that can help counter all these threats?
What I have to say – in brief – is this: The Universe is an organic whole. In that respect it is similar to a human body. What is primarily important is that the human body (or the Universe) should survive and be in a state of well being. Everything else is a means to that end. Our position is similar to that of cells within the human body.
So that means that if the Universe requires the human race for its own survival and well being then it will do what is needful for the survival of the human race. What is required at our end is that the human race should serve the Universe in an effective way. That much should be enough.
Now this argument is clear enough. It is based on the assumption that the Universe is an organic whole. That discovery was made in the 1950s according to a Google search. Here is what I found out:
In 1950 a new science was born called cosmic chemistry. The originator of this science is Georgi Giardi, one of the most significant men of the century. This man, after endless experiments in the laboratory, proved in a scientific way that the whole universe is an organic unity – that the whole universe is one body.
Before you start laughing at the source of this information (it is the website of the controversial godman Osho) hear me out. I first came across this concept when I read the well researched popular science bestseller The Dancing Wu Li Masters by Gary Zukhav. Also I do not have a background or education in science so I do not read scientific journals or the like. I stick to sources that I can understand and are at my level.
So I will ask the governments of various countries to check the facts by consulting the authoritative sources. And that will mean the scientists doing work in physics and cosmic chemistry.
You can (and should) check other sources of information. By that I mean the writings of mystics and also what the religious scriptures have to say about the nature of the Universe. I know for a fact that Advaita Vedanta teaches nondualism. Interested governments can find out what other religious traditions have to say.
Assuming that my facts and assumptions are sound and the reasoning is correct the question arises as to how the human race can best serve the Universe. Here I am on more questionable ground but the following comments can I think be made:
- You can take the opinion of religious mystics who have had the experience of being the whole Universe. They should be in a good position to know what the Universe requires of the human race.
- You can go to the religious scriptures for guidance. These scriptures have served as a guide to the human race for more than a thousand years so they must have real merit and be based on sound foundations.
My niece has done a doctorate in Environmental Engineering and is working in the United States. I showed her the first draft of this article and she said that I have added some value with this blog. She said that the fact that the Universe is an organic entity and will do what is necessary for it to survive is common knowledge. My emphasis on religion as a way to serve the Universe and ensure the survival of the human race was something that she had not thought of.
My niece also said that I have been very abstract with my advice regarding the action steps. I need to be more concrete according to her. But I am not a spokesman for the Universe and I am also not an enlightened mystic. So I need to be careful before telling the sovereign governments and the human race what to do. But I think I will write another blog with some concrete advice. Take that blog with as much salt as you think appropriate.
